First made commercially available to the public in the 1930s, the television was primarily used as a source of receiving news and for entertainment. Then programs through tv channels where made available to the public making the tv one of the chief sources of enjoyment. Today tvs are used in a variety of ways and outlets of various other devices. From the video cassettes, laserdiscs, DVDs and Blu-ray Discs which uses the tv as the only source where it can transmit recorded movies and images straight to the tv, to other devices like the closed circuit television or CCTV for security monitoring and as computer monitors. With all the innovations and advancement of technology, the tv has maintained its original purpose of being the source of information and entertainment either through broadcast tv from your local tv stations or through the popular cable tv or through the new age of tv called the satellite tv.
