My Experience With Eczema Treatment

I’ve seen many doctors, most of who suggest that I frequently use lotion to moisturize my skin. As well, many of these doctors also prescribe some eczema cream of sorts to apply twice daily on affected areas. I’ve even been given a bottle of brown liquid once (used to treat eczema and psoriasis, as was written on the label) that I was to drop a capful into a bath and soak in it for about ten minutes each day. Now, having very protective parents, they wanted to make sure I’ve tried every treatment possible, and so I’ve also been taken to see some Asian doctors who prescribe traditional Chinese medicine to me in the form of herbs. These doctors suggest that eczema is caused by certain toxins in the body and that the herbs they prescribe will cleanse my body of them, thus curing me. Now, I’ve been through many different forms of eczema treatment, and yet I still have it now. I can say though that it is much better than it was years ago and is constantly improving, if not fully cured. I guess it would be different for everyone, but some of these methods have worked better for me than others. For example, the topical creams and lotions seem to do the trick most of the time though the problem seems to come back after a few days if I stop, while the Chinese medicinal herbs take at least a few months to take effect, and even then I only saw a very minor change in my condition. But even so, a little change is better than no change at all, and the fact is that my eczema is getting increasingly better. I am glad for this and will continue these treatments, because it seems that, to me, at least one of them is working.
